The Caltech campus was Catherine Day’s playground as a toddler. Years later, she was lured back: this time for the cutting-edge research and education. Day used her Associates-funded SURF (Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship) to explore the efficacy of a chemotherapeutic drug developed in the lab of Professor Jackie Barton, the John G. Kirkwood and Arthur A. Noyes Professor of Chemistry and holder of the Norman Davidson Leadership Chair in the Division of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. The Caltech Associates caught up with Day, now a senior, to ask her a few questions.
